The obvious option is fork, as most foods need to be stabbed rather than scooped, and you can sometimes use a fork as a spoon. Also, this should at least be KNIFE and fork, you never think SPOON and fork. Overall, I think that the fork is far more appropriate in 9 out of 10 situations....-Sofia
